A question I can't answer.

A women who lives down the road has a beagle, and she thinks it might be pregnant. She just got this dog its about 4 years old and was going to get it spayed but she came into heat and she canceled the appointment. But the worst thing happened a stray dog came ito the fenced yard she has no idea how it got in. She is not sure if the dog did anything but she does now know that it was not fixed.

This happened on June 17 th. She is wondering if her dog was pregnent would there be any signs and what signs should she look for. I can't help her because I know nothing about this so I was hoping maybe someone here could.

Sorry, I can't help. I always fix my pets as soon as I get them so I have no experience at all in this area. I'll look around though and see if I can find the answer on the internet.

If her bitch was mated she can expect the pups around the 19th August - by that time she will notice the bitch has put on weight and will probably have let down her milk and try making a nest.
Tell her to get the bitch to the vet. They will be able to tell her if her dog is in whelp and advise on the extra nutrition and care the bitch will need - this is very important for the bitch's health as well as the pups.
