Aneko doesn’t like the canned food anymore; she wants dry. My question is will it hurt her to eat the dry food? She only has a few teeth and can’t chew the food.
Now, Chester only bites his food once and swallows it and he’s had no problems. He's a pig. :p
She seems to be doing ok (she’s been eating it for about 3 days), but I’ve never had a dog with no teeth and I‘m just not sure if it’s ok for her to eat the kibble without at least biting in half like Ches does. :confused:

Maybe you can try putting some water on the dry food and microwaving it a little.
Peka thinks Aneko is CRAZY for not wanting canned food, hehe.
Try adding a little warm water and let it soak a bit to soften. It may be a bit easier for her to eat. :)
LOL! She won't eat it with warm water. She only wants it if it's hard. :rolleyes: She gums it around a bit and then swallows it!
She used to LOVE her canned food, and all of a sudden she started trying to get into Millie's bowl all the time and stopped eating her wet food. She went several days without eating. She was totally refusing the wet food, so I finally offered her some kibble and look out! :eek: She HOGS up the dry kibble!
I just don't want it to harm her in anyway. :confused:
Not sure if Smokey's bad habits :p should be considered a ringing endorsement of the practice...
But when SmokeMutt arrived at our Ranch as a half-starved 1 year old - the Boy could polish off an almost 2 cup serving of Krunchies in about 6 Bites! :eek:
(And he didn't waste much time breathing during a meal!) :rolleyes:
He'd mouth up a mouthFULL and SORT OF take a giant KRUNCH - ONE Time; then just *GULP* it all down. Not till he was in bowl clean-up mode (when there were only a few scattered pieces left) did he actually "chew" more than twice on a mouthfull.
I swear he spent more time licking his chops AFTER the meal than he spent eating!
And there was often a lovely BurRRRRRP! to signal "I'z dun, Dad! Mmmmm, GUD!"
Took almost a year for him to realize...
A) He WOULD get two meals, every day;
B) Nobody was going to "steal" his meal, and
C) He could slown down an chew the stuff!

How about trying semi-moist food? Just make sure to check the ingredients for propylene glycol or sugar gylcol. They are sometimes put in wet or semi-moist foods because they keep them moist, but they are very bad for dogs.
