Walk for the Animals ~ PICS & VIDS ~

Hey everyone!

Saturday was the Capital Area Humane Society's event, Walk for the Animals. The weather was gorgeous and they figure this was their biggest turnout.

There were police K9 demonstrations, Flyball demos, Frisbee demos, an obstacle course, and of course the walk itself.

After the K9 demos, anyone could try their hand at the equipment. Kia did it all except for the high window jump. She didn't like the seesaw, tire jump, or tunnel. She only tried the tire jump and tunnel once. She got better at the seesaw over a couple of tries.

Kia ran the obstacle course in 7.47 seconds
She had the fastest time for awhile.... the winner had a time of 4.26 seconds.

What beautiful pics! Great job, Kia!! It looks like everyone had a fun day!!:) Those stairs are steep!:eek: I've never seen the barrel obstacle before; that look challenging!

I've got to figure out what's wrong with this browser(Mozilla) I just started using it and it won't let me view videos. Lots of good pics. The one of you two was really cute. You both looked very happy.

NO WAY would my dogs climb those barrels!!! Going around them would be their choice!!!

I was just wondering about you two, and why we hadn't seen any new pics and videos lately;)
I haven't watched the vids yet, but as soon as I'm done here I will. The pictures were great & it looks like a good time was had!

Ok, just watched them and they are great! I can't believe she's not afraid of any of that stuff! There is no way you would have gotten Roxey to jump over those barrels (maybe go through them, but not jump them:rolleyes: )

I didn't think she'd go over the barrels either.... I kept giving her a running start but each time she'd balk away, running around them. Then I tried patting the barrel and said "UP!" and she jumped up and climbed over! :D

Sandra, I don't think the barrels, high window like jump, and stairs are part of a normal agility course. I could be wrong. This is the equipment that the police departments use to train their K9's. :) They had their dogs running the course before they opened it to anyone. I wish I had gotten pics. :(

Andy said he caught a glimpse of one of the K9's going up the stairs BACKWARDS! :eek:

Great pics! It looks like you all had a wonderful time! Kia is such a good girl for trying out all of those things, especially the barrel! I don't think Nebo would do that!
