I know that there have been stories about having prison inmates train shelter dogs to be more adoptable (i.e. simple obedience and housebreaking), but I had no idea that they were doing it in our area. Also, they filmed the inmates and there will be a show about it in 2004 on Animal Planet. Check out this link:

I think I also saw one where they were doing basic training for see & eye dogs & helper type dogs (forget the proper term)
