Prayers needed for Mona

My friend's cat Lisa died 2 weeks ago -she came home, began to breathe hard and while Gudrun was calling the vet, she died. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...b/fc8db602.jpg

She was 8 years old and as you can see looked perfectly healthy. She had become a little lazier but nobody knew she had a serious heart condition.

Now Gudrun is worried about her sister Mona (I don't have a picture of her). She has had an ECG (I hope this word is right) and it shows a heart problem too. The vet thinks it is HCM (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) and she is having ultrasound tomorrow. Basically the sickness is difficult to treat.

The real problem: Mona has a tooth problem right now. The tooth should be pulled but it could happen that she dies when anesthesized. She has not been eating these days -so most likely she is in pain. After the ultrasound tomorrow a decision must be taken to pull that bad tooth.

Her mom is so worried. There is a small hope it could be a treatable version of HCM (like hyperthyreoidic) which is unlikely as her sister had it too.

So you see, we could need some support here. Thanks a lot.

I will keep dear Mona and her family in my prayers. Please let us know the results of the ultrasound tomorrow.

Oh, poor Mona and Gudrun! :( What a shock it must have been to loose Lisa and then find out that Mona is ill too. I do hope she can be treated and get well again!

I know what she is going through, because I lost my Tony to Cardiomyopathy in 1999.

...and to think of the current heat wave over here, this is surely not good for Mona's condition!!!

I sure hope they can pull the tooth so poor Mona can at least eat something. I'm sure the not eating isn't helping the heart problem any.

This is really going to be a hard time for them. Losing one and the possibility of losing another. All prayers and positive thought being sent to help them through this very difficult time.

Can Gudrun chop her food for her? Or some liquid that she likes and will provide nutrition? Is a Catsip type product available.?

My thoughts are with Gudrun and her kitty...Poor things.....
