Worthy Causes

Since many are bringing up worthy animal organizations, I thought maybe we could have a thread where we post some organizations we believe in so others may know about them and research them if they are interested.

THIS IS NOT A FUND. THIS IS NOT A POST TO COLLECT ANY MONEY OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT. I just know there are worthy causes out there that I may not know of and we may want to share some of our favorite groups.

Anyway, I enjoy local organizations mostly, but when a friend's kitty died of FIP, she turned to the Winn Foundation and I've since followed them.

What are some of your favorite pet charities?

Cool idea,

I support a ton of organizations focusing on animals but one of my personal favorites is the Elephant Sanctuary

They are so dedicated to the elephants and even though they don't like Elephants in zoos they treat the elephants previous owners with such respect that most organizations don't give.

I love hearing about other causes, and reading the stories.
It was only after joining this site that I heard of Best Friends, and I will be making a donation to them soon.

Right now, the only organization I am a member of is the ASPCA. I give donations, and receive newsletters and emails every so often.

A nice site to visit is Care 2-you join(free) click on an icon and you save all sorts of animals from Elephants to otters and whales they sponsor neutering and saving the rainforest and wet lands, too-there are some very nice caring people there-that's why they call it Care 2.

wspa is one that comes to mind.
