She won't go to sleep!
Sorry about all these threads, I guess it seems like my dog has *issues!* lol.
Well, she always goes to sleep in my room on my bed right next to my head. She always sleeps fine, until a few nights ago. She is pacing all around the bed, jumping off, getting back on and doing it all again. I find it really hard to fall asleep, so I just open my door and let her out. I keep trying, but she has become totally restless. Could this be due to the heat coming that she's not really used to? It was a sudden change, so maybe. She's also pretty long-haired so we're gonna try and keep her shaved up. Do you think this could be it?
Also she's been going by the back door in her bed and barking at every single little movement. Not only gets annoying for us, but people around us.

restless dog
Hi my name is Gabrielle and iam knew here, But what I think is wrong with your poor baby is that something much being bothering her/ him at night. you might be right about the heat but what I would do is call my vet and tell them her behavior and ask them if they know whats wrong. well good luck.

Yes, I'd deffinately take her to the vet. Behavior is a big key. My late dog Scooter (poodle-llapso alpso) did that in my final monhts of pregnancy. It was so sweet cause he was stressing about my delivery.::)

yep...i'd try consulting the vet...sudden changes in behavior can be signs of something but after consulting the vet..and it's nothing but behavior problems (no medical problems), try feeding her earlier. I find that feeding Kai right before bed time will keep him up. Also, try doing a bit of exercise before sleep. This will tire her out. It doesn't necessarily have to be physical activity..it could be mental activities...like reviewing your training...or hiding her toy and letting her find it..or you can try what me and Kai do..and that's hide and seek. He loves it and caught on fast because it was really fun for him. I just hid behind the door (out of his sight), and said "Find Ashley!" after about 5 minutes, he caught on.
