I think it's the smell of the vets. I have 4 cats and they run away after each vets visit. They also ran away from me after I came out of hospital, though one of them, Moon, decided I was too ill to hunt and brough me in a dead mouse! So kind!

Fabulous, furry Fatima, what a unique mixture you are! Wow, a Maine Coon/Siamese mix--I don't think I've ever seen that mix before. You have such a shiney, thick and fluffy Maine Coon type coat on your body, and then your tail gets smaller like that of a Siamese!
You are quite a beautiful lady, a City Gal I see! You're living in the heart of the action, and it sounds like you have a wonderful LOVING family there! Fatima how fortunate for you that your human was so astute in noticing your weight loss (loved the Jenny Craig joke, by the way!) and whisked you off to get the treatment that you so desperately needed. What a pretty kitty! Good for your purrents to catch that you were sick. You're one of the first cats to get the iodine treatment, I think. They've used it in people for years! Beats getting pills all the time.

What a beautiful combination! I don't think I've ever heard of Maine Coon AND Siamese together; the results are one gorgeous gray velvet kitty. Congratulations on being COTD. So glad your meomie noticed you were losing weight (5 lbs is a lot for a cat! Heck, it's a lot for a hooman too!) Glad the iodine treatment worked. Your kitty siblings didn't recognize your scent when you returned from the hospital. It takes a few days to get your scent back and then they'll be fine.

Fatima, you are beautiful and very elegant. I’ve never seen a Maine Coon/Siamese mix before. I am glad you were able to recover from your hyperthyroidism and that things are back to normal with Fee and Anna. Keep on enjoying the New York life.
