That is so, so awful. It brought tears to my eyes. I just can't believe that the administrators of such an agency would put apathetic people on it's staff, let alone those who openly torture animals!

Those people shouldn't just lose their jobs, they should be prosecuted for ANIMAL CRUELTY to the full extent of the law.

I did some http://www.google.com searching and can't find any current links to this story. I did find this article, from the Honolulu Star-Bulletin, which makes mention of the activities cited in the Petition; but the web article is Dated "Tuesday, December 5, 2000".
