Attack kitty!!!

I need some advice... Tanner (7 months old) continually "attacks" my other cat (Emily who is about 3 years old). It looks like he is doing it to play with her or when I am paying attention to her (he is a momma's boy). I know that she doesn't like it because he is quite rough and he is bigger than her.

Does anyone have any advice on how to stop this (or at least control it)? I am using a squirt bottle to control him when I see him chasing her, but that doesn't always work. :confused: :confused:

I'm am continuously having this problem with Max & Speckles. Speckles is bigger and declawed (she came to me already declawed) and is always being stalked by Max who is smaller but has claws. Max really doesn't like Speckles so I know it's not a play thing, he just likes to intimidate her. Poor Specks will get attacked when exiting from the litter box or if she's just trying to get from A to B. I tried the squirt bottle at first but then Max got used to it. So now, I do nothing and figure it's time for Specks to stand her ground. They are older now so it's not has bad as when I first adopted them 6 yrs ago.

Tanner needs a playmate. Any room for #3? :D

Plain water in a squirt bottle is useless but vinegar on the other hand :)

Anything mildly acidic in liquid form cats hate!

White vinegar, dissolvalbe vitamin C tablets, even 100% juices from oranges or lemons will deter a kitty.

Place in squirt bottle and aim for a lickable place. Cats HATE the flavour and smell of it.

Like everything don't try to get it near the face because a cat's face is very sensitive. Even spraying water on the face can *hurt* them.

It might just deter couch scratching, but then again, prolly not!!!!!!!!!!!

Well Jen, I have debated about getting #3 but I figure that I should probably finish up my degree and get a real job before I do that. (Right now it will only be a few more months before I am finished... I hope.)

The acidic squirt bottle sounds interesting, but the catch is that he doesn't scratch on any furniture (we have already had that training :) ), he just likes to scratch his big sister...
