I read somewhere that a dog's saliva is toxic to some animals - Does anyone know for sure which animals?
I also read that it's toxic on a rat's skin? Does anyone know if this is true? My rats have never gotten sick from Timber or Pedro

I've never heard of that. Max use to lick my pet rats & they were fine
Its not *toxic* but it contains certain bacteria that is not present in the mouth of a *bird*. If a dog licks a bird, or the birds gets dog saliva in its mouth, it can get very ill or even die because of the bacteria in a dog's mouth. The saliva of a cat also holds the same danger for birds.
I didn't know that... I guess I was super lucky whan I was raising peetree from a hatchling to a young adult. Max use to help me care for him. Max licked him all the time.
Thanks :) I was just curious :D
