Are any of the magazines science related?
Not sure if I posted this previously or not ... my memory's shot these days.
If you have old science related magazines you'd like to be rid of, a group I've joined called Nova is donating them to a 6th grade class for a special project they are working on.
Some of the titles they are interested in include
National Geographic
Popular Science
Smithsonian
.... ??? ... There are at least another half dozen magazine titles but my brain's fried at the moment. They do NOT have to be new, older ones are fine. I'd suggest you make sure that your address doesn't still show though.
If you would rather toss than go to the aggravation of packing them up and shipping to me, I definately understand. PM me for my mailing address if you think this would be a cool way to get rid of unwanted science mags though. If you could make an estimate of the mailing cost, and PM me that you'd prefer I pay the shipping, I'll consider it/work out budget to coordinate with you. :o  (Sorry, don't want to commit to paying for a couple tons of N.G.s to be shipped to me. Just in case! :p )
Good luck on your spring cleaning projects!
(Another Nova project is donating second hand children's books to a set of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade kids in a town a little south of here who have never owned a book. This is a concept I can't really grasp... I'm having a lot of luck with donations of both of these from my bookcrossing friends, but if you come across some youngsters books that you'd rather be rid of, again PM me with an estimate of shipping costs and I'll budget a ways to get them to me, okay?)
Yes, it would be faster/easier for you to donate to a local charity instead, and I'm fine with that ... just begging for those that are in the mood. :D  :D
