Pooh needs a home...

An email was sent out to all Staff at my place of work..

"My daughter has a very pretty cat that needs a new home. My daughter's boyfriend doesn't like cats. I'd take her but I can't have pets here I live.

She has white short hair with brown and gray spots. She's had her shots and has been fixed so she won't have kittens. Her front paws have been declawed."

As much as I'd like to reply saying,
"Tell your daughter to keep the cat and get a new boyfriend." I dare not because I don't want to lose my job.

I know it's a long shot, but I thought I'd offer the kitty here.

Oh, my. Not another poor kitty getting dumped. Maybe you can email an anonymous reply from all us pet talkers saying DUMP THE BOYFRIEND KEEP THE CAT!!!!! :D

I would NEVER let my husband tell me to get rid of my cats, or any other animal. That is just so ridiculous. What is wrong with people today?

If I were closer I'd take Pooh in. Hopefully someone here will see it and be close enough to rescue Pooh. Keep us updated!!!!

Yes - dump the boyfriend. Does anyone want an animal hater for a boyfriend??! I hope they can find the kitty the home she deserves.

I think I posted this in another thread but here it is again. I was dating someone in the beginning of 2001 and when I found out he didn't approve of the cats sleeping on the bed, I dumped him. In fact, I would go so far as to not date any guys who did not like cats, but, love sometimes shows no boundaries.

Hang in there Pooh! Some caring human will come along that will give you a loving forever home.

i think i would say to my daughter, 'you know honey boyfriends come and go' but your kitty kat will always be there for you. no matter what just a thought .

I was thinking about your posting last night and remembered a friend of mine. Her boyfriend was extremely controlling. He started out not liking her pet (a dog), then making mean comments about her weight and clothes. Gradually he cut off her contact from her support system. Eventually I sheltered her in my house for a couple of days so it was enough time for her to leave him. Men (or people) who are controlling at the beginning of a relationship usually don't get any better. I don't know if you can speak to the girl, but she needs to be aware that this maybe the beginning of a very BAD cycle.:( :( :(

I agree, but the place where I work is so big. I don't even know the co-worker that well nor do I know her daughter or anything about her. I'm one of the youngest members on the full time staff so I didn't want to voice my opinion, make her upset and then get in trouble with my boss or worse... the Dean. :(

My ex-boyfriend was the same way... I could have a dog (Kia) but no cats. Then he was telling me what friends I could and couldn't have. Very bad situation. And so I left and of course took Kia with me. :D
