That's a pretty old* story, and just one person's opinion. I'm not too scared, I think Ashcroft has other things to worry about right now!
*In today's up-to-the-second news cycles
I'm rather hopeful of finding myself on one of John Ashcroft's "LISTS" .
I would wear it as a badge of honor.
Yeah the story is old, but that doesn't make it any less alarming. I mean, when can the destruction of constitutional freedoms ever be brushed off as "totally yesterday's news, man..."
This is just one of the many scary things that has been going on in this country since 9-11. I suspect the full extent of all these changes won't be fully realised by the American public for quite some time. Police states don't just happen over night...
I know its old (August 2002), but it was posted on this new site today. That means its still a cause of concern. Its scary that US citizens may be stripped of their civil rights. I don't like Ashcroft. :(
I dont like whats been happening lately:(
I don't either. :(
me 2 , me 3 !!!!!
John Ashcroft was defeated in a race for senator. His opponent was DEAD. (Killed in a plane crash during the campaign.) Nonetheless the voters of the not-exactly-a-bastion-of liberals state of Missouri preferred a DEAD MAN to Ashcroft.
His reward....appointed to Attorney General!
When Richard Nixon was elected president I thought that
America was doomed. But the Republic survived. I hope we
also survive George W. and his boys.
Lizbud - Hehe!
Yes, I too hope that the spirit of America is stronger than any efforts of crappy leaders.
I agree Liz, the working class also survived the illustrious "acting" leader Ronald Reagan. I don't think ol' George W is winning many popularity contests these days! lol
LOL, Mugsy.
