THE "WORST CASE OF ANIMAL ABUSE:"
When Dexter, a 35-pound basset hound, was rushed to a Wyoming veterinary
hospital on February 16th, Dr. Stephen Kerr said it was "the worst case
of animal abuse I've ever seen" in 20 years of practice. Dexter had been
beaten until his right side was paralyzed, he was bleeding internally and
he had extensive brain injuries. Yet according to Dr. Kerr, "he still
managed to wag his tail and kiss care providers." Weeks later, Dexter was
stolen again from his owner's home. He was then tortured, mutilated, and
set on fire before his charred body was thrown on to his owner's driveway.
Goshen County Sheriff Don Murphy, recognizing the severity of the
situation, had Dexter's remains transported to Wyoming State Veterinary
Laboratory in Laramie. Lab veterinarian Todd Cornish said that, "All four
of his legs were cut off - probably before the dog was burned." Sheriff's
deputies later arrested Travis L. Wilson, a college classmate of Dexter's
owner, for the crime. Mr. Wilson pled not guilty to animal cruelty charges
as well as additional charges of interference with a police officer and
unlawful drug possession.
WHAT YOU CAN DO:
Ask the prosecuting attorney to pursue stringent penalties against Mr.
Wilson! Remind the prosecutor of the strong connection between animal
abuse and other social violence; Ted Bundy, The Boston Strangler, Jeffrey
Dahmer and Son of Sam all abused animals before turning their violence

ANIMAL ABUSE-The ultimate act of cowardice and mental derangement!!

I don't know what to say? Every new article I read on animal abuse I think "This is the worst" and then I read another. It makes me sick to my stomach thinking about this. I guess we can't pretend it dosen't happen. I used to read an article in the newspaper a couple times a year on animal abuse and thought with disgust that " It does happen on occasion I guess". Since the internet I realize this is going on at a alarming rate. What has happened to us? These monsters that are doing this are someone's family,classmate, co-worker, your neighbor! Well I sent the e-mail and I hope the e-mails will help throw the book at him. Its so hard to believe that a human could go so low as to treat an inocent animal like this - I guess its not hard to believe anymore.

This is so insane. It makes me sick to my stomach. I'm writing an email write now. I hope we can all make a difference and treat Travis Wilson like he treated the poor dog.. yet worse.

Because it's a Basset this one hits home and I can hardly type I am so angry... those evil people will get what they deserve. I am giving my Basset Daisy extra kisses right now. Our dogs don't understand how lucky they are to be living with us. There are too many sick people out there.

That makes me sick! What could make a person so angry that they would hurt a helpless little animal?! It was just a little dog and all that dogs live to do is love and serve their owners. I think this cruel human should get the death penalty! I was in tears after reading that.
