Adorable Young Styx!

Dearest Styx, what an adorable young lady you are indeed! You, and your dear sister Shira too, are absolutely precious, so sweet in all these great photos. Thank you for sharing them with us! You're so cute curled up there among your much-bigger stuffed friends. And then it's so nice to see you and Shira, two precious Tuxedo kittens cuddled up together! I wish I could reach through the screen and across the ocean to Ingelheim, Germany to pet you both. I can't, of course, but I know your loving and beloved Dad and Mom will pet you both for me ;).

And what a lovely story you have to tell, of how you joined your family! Your mother's owners were told she was fixed.. and then one day they found her in the closet with a kitten! They named the kitten Shira, and then a little later they saw that your mother had another little one not quite out of her birth canal. Since that one was turning blue, the people pulled her the rest of the way out, massaged her to get her breathing, and then kept her warm and watched over her. They didn't think she'd make it, but she did.. and this was you, dear Styx!

Then a few months later, your future Mom and Dad came to pick up Shira for Mom. During the visit you ran right up to Dad, climbed on him, and fell asleep! The owner said you were usually afraid of everyone and sick all the time, so nobody wanted you. Dad said he'd take you, so you and Shira went home that day with your new family!

Since then, you've never again been sick. Now you're Dad's little mouse, waking him each morning just before the alarm goes off, by sitting on his chest and breathing on his face. He'd wanted a dog, not a cat, before, but you've become his good friend, always there looking for some loving when he comes home. He makes his special sound, and you come running! You're much smaller than Shira, but you and she have fun playing together. You all love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!

Congratulations, darling Styx, on being chosen today's Cat of the Day! We hope you and your dear Shira and Dad and Mom and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats.

I can't tell you how touched I was, reading your amazing backstory, your proud Daddy's tribute to his brave, beautiful, sweet and loving little mouse! You surely had a very scary and tenuous start at life, Styx! It really was touch and go there for a while.:eek: But thanks to your first family's tireless efforts to save you, doing all in their power to breathe life into you, along with your fighting spirit, you made it!

After all you went through, it's understandable that you may not have been too wanting for affection at first, but that was before you met your Daddy to be, that human destined to be yours! You knew the moment you laid eyes and paws on him that he was the one; never looking back; on your way to that happy and healthy, carefree and love filled life you so richly deserved!
