Happy New Year to you beautiful Koal! We only need look at your precious photo to see what a scamp you are!!:D But what a fright you put into your Mom and Dad after your daring escape:eek: Thank goodness you had the smarts to find your way home after all that time!:) I'm sure your family is giving extra thanks this New Year, knowing their sweet little guy is home where he belongs. Now I know you are a very spirited little fellow, but please stick to those safer adventures, like stashing away the Christmas balls!!:D Congratulations to you dear Koal, our most beautiful, smart and lovable New Year's Day Cat of the Day! We're so sorry about your rough "tail" but this is once again a HAPPY-ending story for our HAPPY NEW YEAR DAY--YAY!!!!! Like I said in yesterday's post (under Oreo), PetTalk people are the BEST, rescuing lost babies every day and making this world all the better!!! Your loving family is another Purr-fect example, Koal, and I'm sure you'll never run away like that again! Keep your curiosity maintained to other mischief, like hiding the Christmas Bulbs--that was a humurous story!!!! LOVE to you FUR-ever!!!! :cool: :D :p :)

I'm so glad you found your way back home sweetie. I'm sure you discovered the world is a big scary place and no fun on your own. No doubt you are so grateful to be home, you've decided to reform and enjoy yourself. Congratulations on being our first Cat of the Day for 2003. Please, no more wondering off for the new year, sweetie.:)

I am sooo glad you came back to your humans. You certainly are a cutie. I love your expression. My little man left a week after Thanksgiving and just returned this past Sunday skinnier than ever. I now have a collar and pet tag on him. I know what your human means about wriggling out of collars. My middle cat Francine always did manage to get her collar off. She ONLY goes as far as the front door and NEVER outside thank goodness. I hope you get lots of treats and celebrate your day as COTD in style. You certainly are a handsome man. I guess you didn't like those ornaments. My oldest cat climbed my Christmas tree when she was a kitten and knocked it down on herself. I have not put up a Christmas tree since. Today she is 4 years old. I am attaching a picture of the birthday girl. This is a picture of her in the dryer, but I must caution don't let cats in the dryer it will cause a dangerous habit. Congratualtions on being COTD!! You are a very special kitty and I hope you don't leave your humans again.

You rock Koal!!! Thank God you found your way home - now stay inside!!! You are one very beautiful sleek regal black kittie cat - and make a very fitting and fetching first Cat of the Day for 2003!! Congrats Koal!:) :D :)

Hell! If I had known this is what they meant when they said certain types of behavior would cause Santa to leave nothing but Koal under the tree for me, I would have been a very bad boy, indeed! All that goodness - wasted - absolutely for nothing.

Of course, those who know anything of me and my history with cats, those who would suspect and rightly so, that even as I type these words the black cat lies just a few feet to my left, curled up in his box, would know that I would be instantly stricken by the photo of Koal and moreso by his story.

You call him "little guy" and the kitten photo of him is indeed reminiscent of my Little Guy, the original black cat, who I raised from the instant of birth to that terrible day 8.5 years later when he disappeared, never to be seen by me again. Happily, your little guy came back to you, and what a smart little guy he is, to hide the ornaments like that! He probably wanted to go to his own secret place, where he could have Christmas all year long.

May you have many years together!
