What a gorgeous boy you are, Haku - and you are a very smart kitty! You knew the moment when your new humans came to the shelter, that you immediately recognized them as the perfect family for you! I lvd the little white patch on your chest, a perfect accent to your otherwise ebony coat!And we are glad they sent such a good picture of you, so we can clearly see those impressive whiskers of your. We do not blame you for deciding not to give kisses to the vet tech any more - that is better than my bunny, who used to try to bite them! we are glad you have a playmate and big sister to run with in the Kittiopolis race around the house, it's more fun to run with someone! It sounds like you were just what they needed, and vice versa! Congratulations, cutie, you are Cat of the Day for the whole world to celebrate!

Haku's meowmy here. I forgot to tell y'all that Haku is 13 lbs today - a big boy that does not go on shoulders anymore. Haku was already named at the shelter as the caretaker had just been to Hawai'i and in Hawai'ian, Haku means "lord" or "master". I looked up his name on the internet and found out that haku in Japanese means "white". Of course, we just had to keep his name :D

Dearest Haku, what a stunning, sleek ebony kitty you are! You are just adorable, with that so-soft-looking fur with the little white spot on your chest, and your sweet face with those lovely yellow eyes. What a great assortment of photos you've posted! Thank you very much. And I trust that is your big sister Ivy with you in the one picture? I wish I could reach through the screen to Sparta, NJ to pet you both! Since I can't, I know your loving and beloved family members will pet you both for me :).

And what a sweet story you have to tell! It was delightful to see your family's previous kitties on the 1997 Pet Talk site. I bet Mungo Angel (and no doubt Zanie Angel too) had a paw in you suddenly realizing these were just the right Purrrsons with just the right Furrrever home for you and you running to adopt them right away! You demonstrated your skills as mouse hunter when you first came home. Now that the mice are extinct (at least in your home), you enjoy snuggling on laps and playing chase in "Kittyapolis 500" with Ivy. What a wonderful love-filled home you all share!

What a beautiful, stunning black beauty you are, and such a sweetheart to boot! (Those Haku baths must have been awesome!:D) What a fine job you did, Haku, selecting your forever humans! Kitties have a 6th sense about these things, and by all accounts a kitty couldn't wish for a more caring and loving forever family! You even got a kitty sister in the deal in Ivy! (No fun running the Kittyapolis 500 by yourself!:p) You truly are one extra special kitty, Haku, and your family so very lucky to have a best friend, a loving companion in you! And no doubt your beloved predecessor Mungo, a Cat of the Day alum herself, is looking down on you all from the Rainbow Bridge, sending you her love, giving you the big "2 paws up!"
