the ski one made me roll my eyes. i live in Washington state where it snows a good bit so i know better to not ask anyone that one LOL

I'm Canadian, can relate to 7,9,10,16,18,19,21,22,23 and 29. Ha-ha, guess that's quite a few eh? I've never heard a Canadian say "aboot" however??

I think that is more "down east", as is the "eh".

I'm an L.A. native, but I worked in Canada for almost a year a long time ago. I never heard anyone say "aboot", EVER. You guys do talk very, very, quickly, though. It took awhile before I could understand most of what you said. People thought I was "slow" before it was explained to them I was a "Yank". I love your money, hate the metric system even though I know it very well, and you guys have THE BEST CANDY BARS IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!!! I loved Canada, at least Vancouver and most of the Okanagan as that is what I saw the most of. Being from L.A. I thought your weather was the worst (sorry). I have never seen so much rain! I was living in Vancouver when Mt. St. Helens erupted and it rained every day, all day, for a solid month! I truly love Vanvouver and would love to go back for a visit, but not while it is raining.;)

I live in Chicagoland and during winter I can relate to roads in the pot holes; salt stains on my coat, pants and shoes; and having to take off my gloves to send a text. We use the metric system at work for weights, temperatures and other measurements- so I have to convert in my non-work life. I wish the U.S. would just switch already. When I worked in Lisle I had a Canadian co-worker who pronounced it "aboot". I have a friend who just moved to Ontario so I've heard a lot about Tim Horton's! I've been to Toronto once and I would like to go again! I'd like to see the Rideau Canal either in nice weather, or in winter when it is open for ice skating. I would love to visit Vancouver which looked so beautiful on the winter Olympics a couple of years ago. I'd like to go to Ottawa and see the Canadian government buildings.

Corollary to #13- if you pronounce the S in Illinois, you aren't from Illinois.

katladyd - ah, you were there during Monsoon season! :D East of BC it gets drier. In fact, in BC's interior there are desert areas where crops need huge irrigation systems just to grow stuff - Kamloops and points east (and west).
