HTe problem is you're trying to post it from your hard drive, Instead of C:\My Documents\Xmas_cat.gif, it should be img src="http://www.something.com/mywebpage/xmascat.gif".
You need to have your image uploaded to the Web before we can see it here. :)
email the pic to me and i will upload it to my site, and i will send you the URL you can link to.
