I believe we should share information regarding good and bad Veterinarians. I have had a heck of a time getting my little Banx kitten taken care of. Initially I used the Vet that our other cat went to called My Favorite Pet or Vandalia Animal Clinic. Anyway, she had ear mites and they took her back in the back and would not let me go with her. She was scared to death and making all kinds of sounds. I am sure that they were not hurting her, but why couldn't I go back and see what they were doing for her. Since the medicine they said would clear up her ear mites immediately back in early June is not working I don't believe they gave it to her at all. They also have a brand new building in this economy? I think pet owners are having to pay for their new high overhead and they are skimping on the medications and things that they are saying they are doing for you. I looked all over and can not find a place to report them or have some one look into it. I am saying this after my third visit to them, so it is not something that I just thought of, it has been bothering me for quite some time. Has anyone else out there felt like they were paying their vet for services that were not rendered? I am curious because she should be better now. They even rinsed her ears out and double checked them they said??????????????, Gooh keeps coming out and I clean her ears everyday with Q-tips. She is shaking her heard and itching horribly. It is plain obvious she still has them. Looking for any advise. Thanks for listening to me rant and rave!!

Since it would be pretty difficult to prove that your cat didn't get the medicine/treatment that you were charged for, my advise would be just to find another vet.

Ditto, take kitty to another vet. Get her the help she needs. Prolonged ear infections can lead to other issues.

You should also call them, and don't say "I don't think you gave her the meds" as that will put them on the immediate defensive.

Say, "I brought my kitten to you x days ago, and you said you treated her for ear mites, but it has not worked and she is obviously still suffering. What did you give her, so I can write down the name of it, and how much?" All this can be accomplished over the phone. They may feel bad and say "Oh, bring her back in, and we won't charge you" or something, but in any case, you will want to have that info on hand in case the next vet asks.

If I were you I'd call your vet hospital and let them know that your cat still has ear mites. I would also probably look for another vet that will allow you to see all of the procedures that are being done. Good luck.:)
