I didn't know anything about the big moon till I heard it on the news this morning. Of course we wouldn't have been able to see it here anyway - overcast and light rain most yesterday and last night too. :(
The "super moon" actually woke me up in the middle of the night. I had not rolled my shades down and the light was so bright - it was really gorgeous!!
I got to see it for awhile, but it clouded up before it was at its best.:(
It has been cloudy and gloomy here for the last week (when did I move to Seattle?) so I only saw it on TV.:(
It was too cloudy for me to see it.
I noticed it, too. It was amazing to see! :) Perhaps that's why I didn't sleep well.
The distance to Earth varies with approx. 50.000 km. At Saturday the distance between the Earth and the Moon was down to 356.577 km. That means a difference of 15% and a difference in light at more than 30%.
We had a great view of it...it was like daylight all around us. Just awesome. I was long asleep but brightness woke me even with the blinds closed.
