Does anyone know of a reputable place to get a free credit report? My husband thought there use to be a place to get one for free once a year, I found a website www.annualcreditreport.com or something like that but it asks for the ssn number, which I guess it would have to but it makes me leary, does anyone know? Thanks...
Do NOT use freecreditscore.com! They will continue to charge you even after you call to cancel.

I used it last year and it was wonderful.
You can get a free report annually from each of the major bureaus, look them up and write to them directly.
In addition to a credit report- which is kind of a raw compilation of your credit history, I encourage you to breakdown and pay the $40 and get one from www.myfico.com. It goes beyond the reporting and tells you your FICO number, how you rate as a risk, etc.
