Goodbye Sophia

Sophia passed away in the wee hours of this morning. She had been fading for several days. She quit eating thursday morning. She was hiding in the closet when i got home from work. I was going to take her to my vet today to release her from her failing body. She decided to go on her own. She always did like everything her way, in her time. I will miss her bossy little self.

The first time I met Sophia, I pulled her out of a cage in shelter. Despite a horribly painful mouth, she nuzzled into my neck purring her heart out. I never put her back in that cage. Til her last breath, her favorite spot was as close to my face as she could get. Sophia was not a lap cat, she was a face cat. She died curled up on my shoulder, her cheek pressed to mine. She was my purring scarf; I'm not sure how I will get to sleep without her.

God bless you, Sophia, and may you rest in peace. What a fine loving life you have shared with your devoted Purrson.

Deepest sympathy to you, Glacier. Sophia is healthy and whole again, at the Rainbow Bridge, where she will greet you and welcome you home, One Fine Day.

I'm so sorry, TamaraLyn. Sophia was such a pretty girl; and who doesn't like a bossy cat? I'm glad for you both that she was able to be in her favorite spot on your shoulder and pressed against your cheek. I'm sure that it was a comfort to you both. RIP sweet Sophia and peace to you, TamaraLyn.

I am so very sorry to read this. Having a neck cat myself, I can understand your loss perfectly. May she be forever loved as the best scarf kitty ever.

I am so sorry about Sophia- but I am sure she preferred to go by her own decision.

Awww, I am sorry for your loss, but clearly Sophia did things her way - snuggled next to her HuMom. I know it's hard, it always is. RIP Sophia.

As I said on Facebook much earlier today, I am so sorry for your loss. Miss Sophia, had to do things her way, right up to the end. How safe she must have felt, cuddled up with you, ready to make her journey to the bridge, knowing all the time that she was so loved.
