Mine do this sometimes and it makes me laugh. I found this article very interesting and it's also interesting that other animals do this too. Here's the link: http://www.adobe-animal.com/HelpfulL...StinkyFace.pdf.

Not heard it called "the stinky face," they are just trying to ID a scent. Yep, seen it on all of them at one time or another.

This isn't a great picture, but here's Sherpa's 'stinky face'. There was something fascinating on those boxes, apparently.

Yes! Buddy does this. Not sure if the other two do or not, but have seen Bud do it many times and always wondered what it was all about. Thanks for clearing this up for me.
I will look at Photobucket as I am sure taht I have a few Stinky Found Cat Photos.
That one of Sherpa is priceless!!!:love::love:
If I've been working outside, sometimes when I come in Diamond will sniff me and make "the face". (It actually has a technical term, "flehmen" (sp)?)
Bean does it and I tell him it's because he has a case of the zacklies. His breath smells zackly like his butt. :D
Sparky does this , but in dogs, it's more like chattering their teeth, and the bottom lip quivers. It's comical to watch, and it always gets a LOL out of me. :D
My Buddy get this face on occasion when he decides to ram his nose up Abby's behind as she walks by him sometimes. I tell him not to go there , cause his face will get "frozen" :p... and it does!!
