I thought they look similar and I think that was their plan. Zachary Quinto looks very similar to Leonard Nimoy, too.

Shatner was a handsome young man.

The new actors worked hard to pick up the mannerisms of the original actors.

I really like the new movie, although I do have a few gripe points with it. :D
