I have not used this one. But I have used the Furminator and it works really good. :)
I used the Furminator on my dog RB Lacey. It worked great on her but not so well on my other two dogs. Seemed like it just 'pulled' their hair. Never tried it on my cats.
Items always look and work great on the infomercials - in reality - not necessarily all that wonderful.
I use what I call "the rake" on Myndi - and it does the same as shown on t.v. using the Shedmonster. It's just a row of what looks like spikes (not sharp) and spaces are farther apart than a grooming comb. It gets all that shedding fuzzy undercoat out in no time, and I only paid a couple of dollars for it. Don't remember where I got it - but I'm sure Petsmart or one of the like stores, has the same thing.
I guess spikes isn't a good description - that sounds painful! - it's more like teeth.....
Is this the comb you speak of? If so I just may try it.

I use something like this one I got at my local pet store. It does remove hair, tons of it, but I have to do it every day to keep the volume of loose fur at a minimum.
