Sharing some pics of our summer (3 more added, #14)

Unlike in 2010, we had a warm and beautiful springtime and early summer this year. Almost too dry, but they say there's going to be a lot of rain the next days.

Anyway, been out a lot to take pictures, trying to capture the summer feeling. Hope you don't mind if I share some of them (those who are on Facebook may have seen them already).

Oh, and just in case you haven't noticed... I :love: poppies! ;)

Kirsten, I could NEVER get tired of seeing your extraordinary photograpy. You'll never know how very much I admire your talent with a camera. If it's possible to have a favorite, it has to be the one with the ladybug. All the pictures are fantastic!

Could I ask you to give Lily and Luna tons of lovies from their big fan in Trenton?

Kirsten, these are beautiful, as your photos always are. Such lovely countryside you have around you!

I simply got excited to see your subject in your thread and settled in to what I knew was going to be a spectacular show.

You never let us down..... your pictures are magnificent. Although I love the lady bug picture, I have to say that one of my favorites is of the cows. I always maintain that when you see cows together like that - all is well with the world.

Kirsten, please don't ever stop taking these pictures and please don't ever stop posting them for us to see.

Light shining through translucent crimson petals
Of a poppy cupped toward to sun
Heavy blossom on slender stem
Defying gravity to perfume the day

Brilliant against the verdant landscape

As the warmth of a summer day

Breathe in the life, and hold it
Listen in the space between breaths, hear the
Faint rustling of ripening seed heads in the breeze
And the subtle buzz of a million insects
Unseen pollinators of a thousand harvests
Close your eyes and feel
Warm rays on your skin
Baking away any memory
No matter how faint now
Of winter's dark chill
Summer is here, be present in the now
And luxuriate

Oh, my gosh, what beautiful and artful pictures! You have certainly captured "summer". I can't say which is my favorite but the one with the ladybug is certainly up there at the top. All of them make me feel so peaceful and relaxed. Great job! Thanks for sharing and keep on sharing!!!

Thank you everyone so very much for your feedback and your kind words. :) I just love this time of the year with all its sounds and scents, when everything outside is so full of life, and the big heat is not yet here... If I was able to capture a little bit of it, I'll be happy. :)

Gini, I love cows, too! Those looked especially content to me as their home is a hill moor meadow deep in the forest. It's very special.

Karen, this is such a wonderful poem! I really admire your talent to put all these impressions and the entire atmosphere of that moment into words. This is exactly what I felt when I was there, and you found the words for it! So beautiful!
