Prayers for Bernie

Hi PTers,

A good friend of mine who is very much into rescue and fostering has a sweet St. Bernard named Bernie. He was just diagnosed with Oseosarcoma (bone cancer) and the vet told them he's got about a month to live. This is very devastating for them. Bernie is only 5 years old.

I thought I'd ask my fellow Pet Talkers for prayers and good vibes, that they will find some type of cure, or that Bernie will be pain free as long as possible.

If anyone has any experience with this, how to make him comfortable, etc. please post and I'll pass it on to her.

Prayers for comfort for him. I'm guessing it has advanced to the point where just amputating that leg won't help? Poor Bernie, tell her to give him a big hug from me, okay?

Bernie is actually still doing well. It's been a couple weeks since I've talked to Kaylan. He' s been showing some signs of pain and last I heard he was being pain meds. I'll update when I get another one.

Just to let you know, Bernie was put to sleep a couple weeks ago.

He took a turn for the worst and was in a lot of pain. :( RIP sweet Bernie, you will be missed. Her step son has taken this very hard, he's 5 years old.

I'm sorry about Bernie.:( It's hard to lose a furkid so young. My thoughts are with your friend and her family.
