Forensic audit scam

If you get a letter that says it comes from "ACT(TM)" it's a scam. They are purporting to be forensic accountants saying you could be due a refund on your mortgage.

The amount of the mortgage and the date on which it was written are a matter of public record.

This letter had no proper letterhead or address.

Caveat emptor!

Guess this falls under the category of "if it sounds to good to be true,
it usually is". These folks never give up do they?
