***** the diet....Marilyn Monroe...

Too bad that folks don't appreciate the "meat on the bones" look anymore, and find the walking skeleton to be more attractive! Some of the bulimic/anorexic models I have seen on t.v., are absolutely disgusting! I can't imagine anyone intentionally starving themselves to look as they do. And the sad part is, they truly believe that they look good that way!!!
-
It is sad, but there is a logic behind thinner models, which has unfortunately been taken to extremes. Designers chose thinner models, so the focus would be on the clothes, not the model's bodies and curves. They are essentially walking clotheshangers, but of course like most endeavors humans get involved in, we take it to the limit and beyond. Oh, thin is good? Well, thinner must be better, right? Not necessarily!

I think the size 14 of those days is not the size 14 of now days.

I don't know ... in that picture she looks about the same size I am when I wear a size 14. Unfortunately, I'm more like a size 17 right now. But I'm working on it ... a few more months and I'll look like Marilyn again! ;)

You certainly put that very well. Some of those models turn my stomach when I see the bones sticking out. But of course anorexic / bulimic people are mentally ill and never will see themselves as walking skeltons unless they are lucky enough to realize the need for treatment and stick with it. It makes me sad to see the teens who feel they have to look like that to be popular or liked.
And here I am fighting to put on a few pounds...

LOL ... no thanks! I'll stay natural, thanks. Skinnier would be nice, but I'll stick with my dark hair. I'd be a really phony looking blonde.
