Not mine but still loved

I just found out my upstairs neighbor's longhaired Dachshund, Bailey, has crossed the Bridge. She just turned 17. Talk about being the apple of daddy's eye- he would take her for long walks around our buildings and to the dog park. Everyone got to know her from seeing the tall man walking with the little black and tan dog. I told her to go find Phred in heaven and hang out with him. Such a cutie. She had a raincoat, a heavy winter coat, and four little boots because daddy wanted to protect her pawsies. He'd even shovel their walking path, then go in and get her, put her coat on and out they'd go.

Thank you for being my friend, Bailey girl. I miss you.

She looked pretty much like this except without the flooffy tail.
