Poor guy, it sounds like you may have been abused when you were young, and still can't completely trust humans. I feel so bad that ANYONE could do this to a lovely animal; it really breaks my heart. Maybe with more time you will learn that your family loves you and just wants you to know that they have your best interests at heart. Happy COTD today.

I'm dating myself by posting the lyrics to this song but they definitely apply. Felix the Cat is an old cartoon that I watched as a child on black and white TV. You may not get into "fixes" but it's clear that you keep your humans entertained, even if you are a bit rough at times. So enjoy your day as COTD, handsome Tuxie boy. :)

Poor Felix, it sounds as though you still have flashbacks too the tiome that you were a stary , and sometimes when you are over stimulated , you strike out even at Your Family who love you so.
We hope that you can grow out of this as you mature and become a more calm Cat.

I have a friend that has a cat that doesn't like much petting and attacks when petted like Felix. After a few years we finally realized that he doesn't like being petted softly, but he loves it if you pet him firmly, even hard. We think the soft, gentle petting must have been tickling him. He has a very short fine coat and sensitive skin.
This may not be the case with Felix and his long abundant coat, but it might be worth experimenting to see if he likes a firm touch and even firm massaging like my friend's cat. I also had another friend with a cat that attacked suddenly out of the blue while being petted, she had a hormone imbalance that was causing it. Although Felix is male, that also could be a possibility, neutering might help if he is a Tom.

How naughty of you to show off your gorgeous fluffy tummy and not allow gentle pats to it. :) I have a couple of kitties in my heard too though who don't like being petted. I hope you come to enjoy it when you are older and more mellow. ;)

Felix, What a handsome boy you are! I'm sorry you sometimes have violent outbursts and I agree with others that you are probably doing it due to the way you were treated before you were adopted by your present family. It is obvious that you are loved and greatly appreciated in your home now. I hope all of you have many years together. I enjoyed your photos and I'm glad you are COTD! Kay in NC
Such a lovely cat...such a temper! You look and behave a little like Whiskers here...except that he loves to cuddle (He will terrorize two of the other cats here on occasion, and tears through the apartment at breakneck speed).

My rescue feral Tigg is much like you! Well, actually he craves and seeks out snuggles and cuddles and kisses, begging to sit in your lap, kneading biscuits and purring his heart out; then suddenly, out of nowhere, bam!:D But we know he loves us dearly, as do we him, just as your parents do! We wouldn't trade you kids for the world!
