The Boy's Home, where Blackie first showed up used to host a fundraising picnis that was billed as the "World's Largest BBQ" for a while. It was a huge deal back in the early 70's -it was a two day event those days.

The event is still held and I think that Blackie must have loved that Sunday.

You could smell the meat from the parking lot.....:D
