Mom and I are planning to fly out in September. The Sylvia hotel is still at high season rates then...we COULD wait til October.
We'll stay for about 5 days. Any recommendations for comfortable and affordable motels etc? We don't need 5 star for sure.

The last time we were in Van, we actually drove a little ways to stay in White Rock. We chose the Pacific Inn:

It was awesome! Big pool, hot tub.. Pets allowed. The rooms are really nice, and it was very affordable (I can't remember how much though). It had two restaurants, one was 'okay' but I heard the other was fantastic.
And White Rock is beautiful.. about 30-40 min from Van, and a nice place just to walk around.
I'd like to stay there again soon!
