Hockey Hall of Fame
Let's hear one for the women http://bestsmileys.com/fireworks/5.gif
Cammie Granato and Angela James have been elected to enter the shrine - the Hockey Hall of Fame - the first women to be chosen.
Granato played on the U.S. women's hockey team for 15 years and led the club to a gold medal at the 1998 Nagano Olympics.
James was a four-time world champion with the Canadian women's team. She starred in the 1970s and early '80s in the Central Ontario Women's League.

Congratulations, lady pucksters!
One of my labmates in grad school played for the women's intramural hockey team. She loved it! Somewhere I have a pic that I got after I defended my thesis, from Betty "Gretzky". (yes, this was in Wayne Gretzky's heyday.)
