Poem for a black cat.
Familiar.
( To be whispered into the ear of a black cat.)
Birds with no wings.
Smiling mice caress your claws
my silent one,
my midnight.
Moons of polished amber
hold the ages of dark knowledge
in your eyes.
Essence of sensual pride,
I shall dream for you
a bath of curling ermine.
Milk of Isis to your possessing tongue,
my love,
my black remembrance of Egypt.
Birds with no wings....
