We are land owners!
Some of you may remember when we were looking at a piece of land last year. Things happen for a reason and it fell through. We were disappointed but figured it just wasn't meant to be.
Well...patience paid off! David found an over 2000 square foot house built in 2002 on five acres for 50k! The land needs work but it's not horrible. The house needs new paint and flooring. At this point, we are looking at it as an investment. But who knows? We may get out there, fix it up and never wanna leave. ;)
David found the place on Tuesday and we won the bid on Wednesday! Should be closed on it within a couple weeks and living there by February. Great way to start 2010!

$50K?? You can't buy a doghouse in Ellicott City for that!! Congratulations! That is really great!:)
-
Wow, I can't believer you can get that for $50k. You couldn't buy a .25 acre lot with no house for that here, at least in the city areas. I've been looking at houses and I'm finding under 1000 sq feet houses on .25 acres for around $130k. Your place sounds awesome, have fun with it! :)

Yeah it is definitely a bargain! There is even a decent golf course about a mile or two down the road. David likes to golf and says it increases the property value. He sees $. ;)
-
Congratulations!
We are currently looking around to downsize, and it would be a miracle if we found a place like that for such a nice price... even around here! You certainly snatched a great deal. :)

WOO HOO! How exciting! Congratulations and Happy New Year!

Congrats!!!:D It looks great.:) You couldn't even buy a shack out here for that price.

FAWSOME!!!!
That is a screaming deal! I have a 900 sq/ft house on 1.5 acre, valued at $115,000. I R green with the envy.

It's been appraised at over 100k. It was foreclosed on. It makes me sad to think of the family that had to leave. :(. They made out with all they could, though...appliances, light bulbs, etc. :). We are going to get kitchen appliances from craigslist or something. Fencing is going to be our biggest initial expense but that alone will add more value to the property.

Out here on the near boonies, that is at least a $400K property! You and your Mister have SCORED!!
