My Fur Posse do the same thing. They have a jillion places to sit but they choose the least comfortable. Striker is one handsome chap! :)

Like you, I love to sit in the window and see what's happening in my neighborhood. But it seems your ledge might be a bit uncomfortable for a kitty. You might want to talk to your Meowmie about one of those window things they have in PetSmart. They attach to the ledge and some even have a nice warm, comfortable cushion where you can take a nap in the sunbeams.
