Camera help please!
My daugher has asked for a camera for Christmas. She would like a small put in your purse size camera. I have been looking at the canon's on costco.com and they range from 100 to 300. I don't really understand the differences. Mostly it looks like image stabilization.
I would like to spend under 300. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Good reviews, and I've used one of these cameras before.

Thank you that is available at costco also. I can earn my rewards.

Hey mom, what am I getting? ;)
Just kidding, but anyway - I have a Nikon Coolpix ...something forgot the dang number. But anyway - I've dropped it so many times but it's still in pretty good shape and it still takes great pix :) So, I like how Nikon lasts. My Canon lasted really good too and my Pentax was a GREAT camera but broke less then a year after I got it through no fault of my own.
Canon or Nikon definitely would be my first choice of brands.

You have enough cameras! I will get you something else!

I have a Cannon Power shot and I LOVE it! Small enough to go in a purse or pocket, takes great pictures and video and wasn't $200!

My advice would be to not buy a Kodak.

Canon Powershot here, as well, and LOVE it!
Stop in at the Library and check the Consumer Reports article on cameras. The Reference Desk will help you find it. I usually make a photo copy so I can read and refer to it at my leisure till I make my decision.

I have the Canon powershot as well. Canons are among the better cameras. Its not the smallest camera on earth though. It was around $130.

We went to bestbuy and looked and the guy that worked there demo'd a few cameras, we were won over by the sony cybershot t90.
It 279 at bestbuy or 249 at walmart.com. It was an awesome camera that had a lot of cool features like smile detection, face detection and on and on.
