Do I have to remain "Registered User"

or can I change that line under my PT name. I see that other folks have comments or phrases there, but I can't figure out what to do.

Go to USER CP (CONTROL PANEL)
then to EDIT YOUR DETAILS
then scroll down to CUSTOM USER TITLE

enter your wording and save changes.

Exactly as Jenn described. Once you have several posts under your belt, you're allowed to change your user title.
