RIP Buttons

My chihuahua Buttons passed away recently, after a long battle with heart failure. What a tough thing to go through, having to judge your babies quality of life, seeing her struggle. It was heart breaking. But finally enough was enough, and I had to put her to sleep. She just couldn't do anything without struggling to breath. Putting any animal to sleep in such a horrible experience, but she was my first dog, before she came into my life I had always been a cat person. She truly won me over from the moment I saw her, and when she passed in my arms it tore me apart. I guess I am still struggling with it.

Anyway, just wanted to share. I miss her.

Rest in peace, pretty girl. You changed your mommy's life forever with your love.

I'm so sorry to read that you lost Buttons. No matter how many times we go down that road of making a decision to help them cross, it never gets easier - whether it be one time or ten times. But we are blessed with the ability to help our animals be free from distress, whereas we cannot make that choice for a human loved one. I guess in a sense, the animals are more fortunate than we are.
I'm sure that Buttons thanks you for all your love and kindness. She's free now, and waiting for the day that she will be reunited with you once more.
