Pretty Flowers
-
Haven't a clue, but they sure are pretty!
-
I think they're Foxglove or Delphineums, Barry. That leaf is so familiar. I'm almost positive they're Foxglove. Anybody else?
-
And I was going to say Lupine. I don't know, but they sure are pretty!
-
They are lupine. Delphinium have different leaves and bloom later. I planted some lupine in my front yard, but it doesn't get enough sun to actually blossom.
-
We have Lupines here too, but not sure they're out yet. Very pretty!
What a nice street you live in! :)
-
Truly lovely. I have grown Lupine from seed, they are actually quite easy to do and one of the prettiest flowers ever. Your flower bed is very lovely.
-
I love lupine! You have some lovely ones there, Barry. Dark pink and blue, the lighter pink aren't as striking, to me. Anyway, after I saw them, THEN I see you are asking what they are, and of course several folks have replied. They are quite common in Maine, where I lived for 5 years.

Thanks everybody!!! I don't think we have Lupine here. I was going to say that at first but I thought the leaf looked like something else. They are beautiful!!! I would love to have some in my yard.:)
Maybe Foxglove are in the same family? I believe Foxglove is Digitalis, the heart medication. Make sense??
-
Yes, they are definitely Lupines and the Foxglove's name is Digitalis. There are many varieties of Digitalis, so there's a second name for the plant, but the derivative is the same as the heart medication.
