MAX (the Food-Cat)

Our beloved Max, the "Food-Cat", went to the Bridge on Saturday 3/28/09.... he had his share of medical problems over his life, he had Megacolon and had 90% of his colon removed in 2002-- he came back from that and adjusted so well, with his intense love of food, that he ate himself into diabetes- went from twice-daily insulin to reduced doses to once-a-day to off insulin over a 2-year period.... but the megacolon finally got him, he made it six good food-filled years but then he began to lose control of his remaining bowel-- he was uncomfortable a lot of the time, and hated being messy- his GREATEST LOVE was food, he would sing in front of the oven if a ham or a turkey was cooking, he LOVED to eat-- and everything wrong with him, had to do with his diet!.... we taljked over the options, and at 10-1/2, he wasn't a candidate for more surgery and it wouldn't've given him much quality of life anyway-- and, he'd become 'refractory' to the medications he was on-- so, he went to the bridge.... we'll miss him terribly..... he was so loving and SO much fun around food! He had a good life, as long as he could have....

Sleep well, and EAT well, at the Bridge, sweet Max-- please know how much we loved you- you'll be TERRIBLY missed-- wait for us there--

I am so sorry about Max. It sounds like he was definitely a fighter. He lived a good life with such a loving family.

RIP Max, now you can eat all the food you want at the bridge and not worry about it affecting you. :)

Tonight at Chef Mauros on Maui , there will be a special dinner in Max's honor, and the fisrt plate of food , especially prepared fo him will be placed before the Angel Of Honour.
And at Lanikai Beach later tonight there will be a Animal Angel Army Picnic for the Newest Angels , and again a feast for Marvellous Max.
All of My Angels were Food Ctas too, so they will be able to show Max where the best food is.
And Tomorrow at Harrys Fish and Chips we would be honored if Max would join us for the Haddock and Chips.
Its sad that Max had a relatively short life, its so hard when our Animal Companions go before thier time.
But there will be a time when Max the Food Cat and His Loved Ones will be together at a Banquet in Paradise.

No more dieting for you, MAX. Now you'll be able to eat to your heart's content. I'm sorry that you had to leave us because we just don't have enough time w/our furkids but you had a loving family and a quality life in spite of your illness. RIP, sweet boy and peace to your family. :love:

I'm sorry you had to leave dear Max, your humans loved you very much and will miss you every day.
But you're in the best place now, and you're happy and will be having fun and all you can eat without worrying...
