I'm pretty sure there is a feature on vBulletin forums where you can search for members based on last activity, then delete them. Some other forums have that feature, anyways lol.
Deleting non active accounts is common with photosharing sites etc. I think the main point of them is to free up possible sign in names for active users though.
I don't know about this. Look in introductions at the thread - Who is Dragon Fire? This person joined in 2001 and recently found us again and has even changed their name to Skyfire and is actively posting again.
I've searched profile names that have ZERO posts. Now those might be worth deleting.
We do periodically delete folks who have been members but never posted, after a period of time. If they do have a post, we leave them, just in case they want to come back, as "Skyfire" did, and so deleting those old posst doesn't cause confusion within existing threads.
I know one person who hasn't been active who is wanting to come back when she can get another computer. Dorothy 39! :)
Thanks for your reply, Karen. :)
I suggested it mainly because new members may want a username that is taken by a member who has ONE post and not having been active for 5-8 years - Dorothy29 does not fit this, she has lots of posts.
