declawing
well there are a couple threads about this... and in one the other day, I mentioned that I had never considered it, but that I might now. well after reading just some about it, not even that much yet, I think I am going back to my first way of thinking, and that is no way. I just can't do it to them. thanks for your posts, made me forget about ever getting it done to them!
it would make things so much easier around here, but I don't care, I just can't do it. I really don't think I would ever have really gone thu with it anyway! my brother said the other day well what about when they neuter them? doesnt that hurt? I said well I'm sure it does but it's for a greater good.
they are better behaved and don't add more homeless cats to the world.

I'm SO glad you decided not to!!!!!!!!!!!!! You should tell your brother that neutering is not mutilation and does not affect their behavior or instictual tendencies. With neutering, there are a couple days of discomfort and then kitty is back to normal. Declawing has a much longer recovery period, much much much much much more excruitiating pain, and can affect the cat in negative ways for the rest of its life :(

actually neautering does affect the behavior, but in a good way, and it saves more animals being homeless.
I wish it was not so, because it would really help to not have to do that. but it is too mean to do to the kitties(declaw that is) and I can't.

Neutering slightly affects behavior, and not even all the time. And as you said, it is positive and healthy for the animal, not mutilating and cruel.

I agree with you, I had only meant that neutering stops some spraying or aggressiveness, or I thought it does anyway I could be wrong. but anyway, no declawing!

I glad you decided not to get your cat declawed, it is horrible and very pain for that cat to go through. I have a cat and he is declawed on all four paws and broke his foot. I would never get a cat declawed. I glad you thought the same way.
