Keeping the peace when you have more than one cat

Someone sent this to me in an email yesterday, though I'm not sure why. It's been a long time since I've had cat wars in my house but I've noticed that several threads have been started in Cat Behavior about this very subject. I'll admit to not having read the book but he thinks it's well worth having in your library if you have cats that just don't get along, so I thought I'd pass along the title and author. Thanks for the info. :) I should read this. I am the one that has Mamma and Buddy that do not get along sometimes. Things have been quiet for a few days (knock on wood).

It all depends on the cat. Some cats, like my late lamented Orbison, love other cats. When I brought him home from the shelter, he cried because the other cats wouldn't play with him. Eventually, he won them over and they loved him equally.

Leela, on the other hand, is definitely a singleton (despite her love for Orbison). She hates even pictures of other cats.
