BHA preservative in Hill's Science Diet -- opinions?
Hi. I notice many of us here use Hill's Science Diet. On another cat board there is much controversy over it because of the additive BHA that is used.
After research I've decided to stick with S.D. despite the BHA. I will continue to monitor the studies, though... (And, I hate to say it, part of the reason I'm sticking with S.D. is the enthusiasm my fur babies show for the stuff!)
What is your opinion on this?
Note: I set up the poll so that you can answer with more than one response if you wish.
B.H.A = BUTIRATO-HIDROXI-ANISOL
Well, I don't know the name in english,it must be very similar though.
B.H.A is a food presevative, also used in human food.
I will check the all thing, at work, but wouldn't post till next week, I'll be off the week-end (matter of to meet my new "brand" niece :D)
Some member at PT are chemist, I think, so the will know better than me.
Amberlee, where did you find that B.H.A. is dangerous? I will take is easily, very often behind the all thing are "comercial wars".

I was visiting another chat room that focuses exclusively on cats. It seemed like everyone there was sure that BHA was bad for cats. (Uhm, something about the size of the molecules being hard on their livers, too, which doesn't make tons of sense to me. Chemists, can you help me out here? Thanks!)
