New addition to the family. Born Aug 18/08. Gotcha day, yesterday. 7 weeks old tomorrow.

He's a cutie! What's his name? What breed is he? Ya can't just leave us hangin like this!?!?

Nope, not a Golden.
A Fox Red Labrador Retriever.

Fox Red is considered just a dark shade of yellow in the Labrador.
It is how Labs used to be back in the day, until someone got it in their head that Labs should be more yellow. At least that's the history I've found online.

All 3 were in avoidance mode all day. Sasha is not the least bit interested in Chance. He's chased her a couple of times. Hopefully she will accept him.

The kittens are coming around now. They're getting curious and have come to check Chance out a couple of times now.

He is just too adorable! I can't wait to see more pix of him as he grows. :)

That is how it seems with the redder golden retrievers too. You look back at the goldens from years ago and they were more red and "setter-like" in appearance. Now the preferred is more blonde, shorter and blockier.

Anyway I must say, Chance is absolutely adorable. Warmest congratulations!
