RIP Storm!

Storm had a great life! He lived for 14 1/2 years with a great family who loved him dearly. They never went on vacation and someone was always with him. As his human family continued to grow with 2 grandchildren, his family decided to go on a beach vacation. On the recommendation of their vet, they chose a facility that specializes in old and sick dogs. Storm seemed to love it there and even got to attend a doggie wedding and have dog wedding cakes which he loved! Storm loved to eat so that makes his family very happy to know that he got dog wedding cake! Unfortunately, Storm went into complete renal failure on his 6th day at the facility and despite being rushed to the vet, he died. His family wanted to rush back from the beach to be with him as he was put to sleep but the vet said she couldn't wait for them...it would be unfair to Storm and his comfort was their primary concern. His family is devastated that they weren't with him for the last week of his life but comforted to know that he was very well cared for. He had a wonderful life and was very loved. We are all grateful that we afford our pets a humane death when their time comes and that they do not need to suffer for days or even weeks as sometimes humans do.

I'm so sorry for the loss of Storm. :( How sad his family couldn't be there. How could they have known? May Storm enjoy the Rainbow Bridge until he and his family are reunited. Thanks for posting his Dogster page, he was adorable.

I know no words can console his family, but how could they have known? It was unfortunate timing. After 14 1/2 years, I'm sure Storm knew his family loved him to pieces. To me, it wouldn't have been right not to let him suffer another minute.

Storm was such a good looking boy. He looks like a sweetheart too. My condolences to everyone. This is such a terrible thing for anybody to have to go through. My heart breaks for Storm's family:(
